Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist SEN school in Chorley.

This role offers a unique opportunity to support students with a variety of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), learning difficulties, sensory impairments etc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Student Support: Work one-to-one or in small groups to provide tailored support to students with SEN, helping them to access their education and achieve their goals.
  • Classroom Assistance: Support teachers with lesson delivery, resource preparation, and classroom management to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Emotional Well-being: Provide care and encouragement to students, fostering their emotional and social development.
  • Daily Supervision: Assist during break, lunch, and transitions between lessons to ensure student safety and engagement.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Experience: Prior experience supporting individuals with SEN in an educational, childcare, or care setting is essential.
  • Qualifications: A qualification in childcare, teaching assistance, or similar is preferred but not required.
  • DBS Certification: A valid enhanced DBS certificate is required or the willingness to apply for one prior to starting.
  • Attributes: Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Eligibility: Right to work in the UK and the ability to provide professional references.
