SEN Teacher
Location: ChorleyStart Date: As soon as possibleWorking Hours: Monday to Friday, 32.5 hours per weekSalary: Up to £45,646 per annum
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join our small and supportive SEN school in Chorley. We are looking for an experienced professional to make a genuine difference in the lives of our young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
About the Role:You will lead a small class of students, delivering high-quality teaching and ensuring that their learning and social needs are met. With small class sizes and a highly supportive team, you will have the opportunity to focus on making a significant impact on each child’s progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual needs.
- Assess and monitor student progress, ensuring aspirational and achievable targets are set.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student assessments.
- Collaborate with key workers and the in-house therapeutic team to support care plans and create educational schemes of work.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other stakeholders, providing timely and accurate reports.
- Uphold the school’s positive ethos, values, and safeguarding standards.
- Work as part of a team to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Relevant QTS/PGCE qualification.
- Significant experience teaching students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Strong understanding of teaching strategies and practices suited for SEN learners.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Emotional resilience and a genuine desire to improve the life chances of our students.
- A valid enhanced DBS certificate and the right to work in the UK.
Desirable Experience:
- Previous experience in a Special Education School or managing challenging behaviours.
- Proficiency in using recognised teaching and learning strategies for SEN learners.
