About the role:

Fairpoint Containers are recruiting for a Mechanic / HGV Technician to carry out servicing and repairs of all makes and models of HGV's including trailers and draw bars to the highest standards. From diagnosis using the latest tools and manufacturers diagnostic equipment to all aspects of repair including brakes, clutches, gearbox's engines and electrics.

Shifts are Monday to Thursday 7am to 7pm week one, then Tuesday to Friday 7am to 7pm with Saturday morning 7am to 12pm week two.

What we need from you:

Qualified to NVQ level 3, City and Guilds or equivalent, or time served, experienced vehicle mechanic with an excellent eye for detail and proficient in the use of diagnostic laptop computers.

Mechanic / HGV Technician - Responsibilities:

The following is a list of the main activities for the position but it is not exhaustive.

Reporting to Service Manager.
Carry out servicing and repairs of vehicles in line with legislation and Manufacturer recommendations.
Occasional work on small plant machinery
MOT inspections, preparation and presentation.
Test and diagnose faults using the latest diagnostic computers, interpreting repair instructions and technical information.
Roller brake testing, fault diagnosing and repair.
Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and safe condition.
Maintain quality standards of health and safety, dress, attitude, customer care and honesty in order to portray a professional image to customers at all times.
