We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Municipal Vehicle Engineer with a strong background in heavy goods vehicles (HGV) and municipal vehicles. The role involves fabrication and welding (coded welding not essential), as well as expertise in repairing refuse vehicles, particularly in hydraulics and electrical systems. The successful candidate will be able to diagnose and repair breakdowns efficiently and ensure the smooth operation of essential municipal equipment. This is a permanent position, offering 42.5 working hours per week, with a pay rate of 20 per hour.



This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a hands-on approach, a background in welding and fabrication, and a strong mechanical understanding. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform fabrication and welding on LGVs and bin-lift equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair breakdowns in municipal refuse vehicles, focusing on hydraulics and electrics.
  • Use specialised equipment to fabricate, cut, and weld parts.
  • Ensure all repairs and modifications are properly documented.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to relevant safety regulations.
