FINANCIAL CONTROLLER - Circa £50,000 DOE - CHRISTCHURCH

Would you like to be part of an innovative and exciting company who manufacturer and supply products to be used in high end interior and exterior design projects across the UK?

Most of the company’s work is for corporate head offices, hospitality, and retail sectors. Projects are bespoke and specified by architects and they work with many main contractors. As Financial Controller you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance.

You will provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team and develop financial policies to ensure the company's financial health. You will also oversee project invoicing, handle cash flow management, and monitor cost control.

Key Responsibilities:

With the assistance of one member of staff, finance responsibilities include:

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including inputting bills, processing invoices, and managing accounts payable/receivable.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly payrolls in conjunction with the external payroll provider.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly and annual financial reports to HMRC, ensuring compliance with UK tax laws.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts pack for company Directors’ meeting.
  • Manage corporation tax, VAT returns, PAYE, NI and CIS reporting.
  • Develop and implement effective financial policies and procedures.
  • Perform regular financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making.
  • Prepare annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely data entry.
  • Liaise with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the management team.
  • Liaise with our insurance broker and manage the annual insurance renewal process.
  • Prepare ad hoc Companies House and Office for National Statistics filings.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a finance manager, or similar role within a small to medium-sized business or
  • within an accounting firm on behalf of your clients.
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (preferably Sage) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial management.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

40 Hours per week

08:30 - 17:30 Monday - Friday
