We’re partnering with a thriving company in Bournemouth, undergoing positive transformation, to find a Financial Accountant to join their team. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity for you to mould and develop the position, with a clear pathway towards future leadership. If you’re someone with a solid technical background and a continuous improvement mindset, this role provides the perfect platform to influence and enhance financial practices in an evolving business.Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for:
  • Supporting statutory obligations, ensuring compliance and accuracy
  • Developing and implementing new controls, policies and procedures to streamline financial operations
  • Focusing on audit and statutory accounts production, with potential involvement in group companies over time
  • Contributing to monthly financial reporting, producing and analysing financial reporting decks and bridging results after management accounts
  • Handling compliance reporting requirements for the organisation’s lenders
  • Collaborating closely with the Finance Director
What you will need:
  • To be a qualified accountant – ACCA / ACA / CIMA
  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as Financial Accountant / Financial Reporting Accountant / Finance Manager / Audit Senior
  • A background in and deep understanding of technical accounting, including producing statutory accounts
  • A continuous improvement mindset with an eye for spotting improvements
  • Experience in an accounting practice and/or the logistics / freight sector would be ideal
