Semi-Skilled Machinist | Christchurch | £15 (depending on experience)
Purpose
As a Semi-Skilled Machinist, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal components and structures. Working from detailed engineering drawings, you will use your technical skills to cut, shape, and weld a variety of metals, including stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel, to create high-quality components.

Key Duties as a Semi-Skilled Machinist:
- Operating and monitoring manual or CNC machines such as lathes, milling machines, or grinders under supervision.
- Inspecting finished parts using measuring tools like callipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure they meet specifications.
- Ensuring the workspace and machinery are clean, organized, and safe.
- Selecting and preparing raw materials for machining.
Your Experience as a Semi-Skilled Machinist will include:
- Experience with manual or CNC machines (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in using tools such as callipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and other precision instruments.
- Experience with basic machine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
