Sheet Metal Worker, Christchurch, £18.00 an hour  

Purpose

As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will play a vital role in fabricating high-quality sheet metal parts to meet exacting specifications, contributing to the production of essential components used in aircraft manufacturing.

As a Sheet Metal Worker, your responsibilities will include:

  • Fabricating sheet metal components based on customer drawings and tooling specifications.
  • Operating a range of sheet metal machinery, such as the wheeling jig, rollers, brake press, stretch former, shrinkers, and stretching machines.
  • Carefully reading and following engineering plans to produce accurate parts.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized workspace to support a safe and efficient environment.
  • Working independently or collaboratively within tight production schedules.
  • Supporting other departments as needed following appropriate training.

As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will have

  • The ability to read and interpret complex aircraft drawings and specifications.
  • Hands-on experience with hand-forming double-curvature parts in aluminium and steel for aircraft applications.
  • A completed apprenticeship in aviation or a similar field, with at least 5 years of experience in sheet metal production.
  • A proven track record of producing high-quality, detailed sheet metal components.
