The school is an alternative provision in Christchurch, committed to supporting secondary students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Our aim is to provide a nurturing and engaging environment that fosters personal growth and academic achievement.
This role is an amazing opportunity for somebody who wants to make a difference to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and support young people to access education. You will offer guidance and support both in the classroom, and also with their social and emotional development. You聽will work closely with the SEMH Lead/Team Leader and other school staff to identify and meet the individual needs of students, promoting their emotional and mental well-being, and enhancing their ability to access learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs, focusing on developing emotional regulation, self-awareness, and self-management skills.
- Develop and implement individualized behavior plans and strategies to support students' SEMH needs.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to students, promoting a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Contribute to the development of a positive school culture, promoting inclusivity, respect, and empathy among all members of the school community.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in SEMH support.
