GSL Education are currently seeking a part-time Admin Assistant for a local school based in Christchurch, starting immediately. This position is part-time, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8am to 12pm, offering 20 hours per week.

About the Role:
As an Admin Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the educational institution.
Responsibilities:
- Greet visitors, parents, and students warmly, and assist students visiting the reception area.
- Answer calls and emails, directing them appropriately.
- Manage the main reception area, ensuring professionalism and organisation.
- Assist with filing, photocopying, data entry, and handle incoming and outgoing mail.
- Maintain accurate student attendance records and assist with enrolment.
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students while supporting the dissemination of information via newsletters and other channels.
- Manage the school calendar, scheduling appointments and meetings.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to foster a positive, inclusive environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a receptionist or in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for building effective relationships.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and basic computer skills.
- Familiarity with school management systems is a plus.
- Efficient in managing workloads independently and skilled in problem-solving to calmly address and resolve issues.
- Maintains personal and professional privacy.
- A team player who collaborates effectively in a friendly manner.
