Catering Teacher - SEMH School - Christchurch - ASAP Start

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Catering Teacher to join a supportive SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Christchurch. This is a full-time position to start as soon as possible.



About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and practical catering lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs.
  • Plan and deliver lessons that develop essential cooking and hospitality skills, promoting independence and confidence.
  • Manage a positive and inclusive classroom environment, adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
  • Work closely with support staff and pastoral teams to ensure the well-being and progress of students.
  • Encourage and support students in achieving relevant qualifications.


About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred, but candidates with relevant experience and vocational qualifications in catering or hospitality will be considered.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs or additional learning requirements is highly desirable.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to teaching.
  • Ability to create an engaging and structured learning environment.
