Horizontal Borer - Manual Machinist
Carbon60 are recruiting for a manual machinist to work for a large engineering company that provide pumps, compressors, turbines, and generators.
This manual machinist role is on a 6-month contract basis and has become available due to continued growth and expansion. The ideal candidate is someone who is apprenticeship trained (or a relevant qualification) and has worked within a related industry.
Role Responsibilities and Skills Required:
- Ability to setup machine tools: Grinders, Lathes, Horizontal Boring Mill, and Vertical Boring Mills
- Experienced in Fanuc but will consider other programmes.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, and process cards to determine dimensions, tolerances, and materials required.
- Apprentice trained is advantageous (a relevant qualification will also be considered).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of machine tools and their functions.
This role is a manual machinist position, but you will need to have an understanding of CNC machines.
Rate: 20 per hour PAYE (day rate), rate will increase if working the night shift. Or 25 per hour UMBRELLA rate.
This role can be considered on either a day shift or a night shift basis.
