Key Responsibilities:
  1. Food Preparation:

    • Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks, such as washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients.
    • Prepare simple dishes under supervision, ensuring adherence to hygiene and safety standards.
  2. Cleaning and Hygiene:

    • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment.
    • Ensure work surfaces, floors, and storage areas are kept clean and sanitized.
    • Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  3. Stock Management:

    • Assist in unpacking and storing deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation (FIFO).
    • Monitor stock levels of kitchen supplies and inform the Head Chef or Manager of replenishment needs.
  4. Team Support:

    • Provide general support to the kitchen team during busy periods.
    • Handle food waste appropriately, ensuring waste is minimized wherever possible.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or similar role is preferred but not required.
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods and lifting heavy items.
