We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team, responsible for machining in preparation for the manufacture, service, and repair of company press tooling. This role requires a professional who adheres strictly to health, safety, and environmental policies while ensuring that all tooling meets customer requirements through close adherence to quality procedures.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Machining tasks in preparation for the manufacture, service, and repair of press tooling as directed by the Toolroom Supervisors.
  • Ensure complete adherence to all company health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Maintain strict compliance with company quality procedures to ensure tooling meets customer requirements consistently.
  • Read and understand technical drawings and problem solve with an analytical approach.
  • Assess tooling following any unplanned downtime and have a basic understanding of tool design and associated software packages.
  • Operate various equipment including XYZ Mills, Manual Mills, Lathes, Bridgeport CNC, and Surface Grinders.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of machinist experience in a toolroom environment.
  • City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical approach.
  • Basic understanding of tool design and familiarity with associated software packages.
  • Training will be provided as required.
Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly rate of £16.00.
  • Standard working hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 3:30 pm.
  • 25 days holiday per year (January-December) plus 8 Bank holidays.
