Behaviour Mentor

Remedy are looking for a Behaviour Mentor to join a team in Clacton, you will play a key role in supporting students who may experience challenges in managing their behaviour or emotional needs. You will work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and parents to develop and implement strategies that promote positive behaviour, enhance learning, and improve overall outcomes for our students. You will be a positive role model, offering guidance and support to students both in and outside of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with behavioural, emotional, and social challenges in a school setting.
  • Work one-to-one or in small groups to deliver interventions and strategies that promote positive behaviour and personal development.
  • Provide mentoring to students, helping them to develop coping strategies, self-regulation, and resilience.
  • Collaborate with teachers and pastoral staff to identify students who may need additional support and track their progress.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of behaviour intervention plans and strategies.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging self-esteem and confidence.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and outside agencies as needed to support students' well-being and behavioural development.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with young people, ideally in a secondary school setting.
  • A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and how to implement them effectively.
  • The ability to build rapport with students, motivating and inspiring them to succeed.
  • A compassionate, patient, and non-judgmental approach to supporting students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to student welfare.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or related fields (desirable but not essential).
