We are looking for a full-time Behaviour Mentor to work 1:1 with a Year 3 child in a mainstream primary school in Thorpe-Le-Soken, Essex. The school, recently graded "Good" in its latest Ofsted inspection, offers a supportive and positive learning environment.
This role is both challenging and highly rewarding, giving you the chance to make a real difference in the life of a child who needs extra guidance to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide 1:1 support to a Year 3 child with complex behavioural needs.
- Help the student engage with their learning and develop strategies for managing behaviour.
- Build the childs confidence and support their educational and personal development.
- Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff to implement tailored learning and behaviour plans.
- Monitor progress and adapt interventions as needed to ensure the childs success.
- Experience working with children who have complex behavioural or emotional needs, ideally in a primary school setting.
- Patience, empathy, and a calm approach to managing challenging behaviours.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with staff, students, and parents.
- A passion for helping children overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
- A relevant qualification in education, youth work, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Able to work full time, term time only
