Overview:We are a dynamic and growing company in the machining, fabrication, and fast-paced manufacturing sector based in Essex. As part of a larger group encompassing three companies, we are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead our production operations. This role offers significant opportunities for progression within the company.

Role Summary:The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process, ensuring that manufacturing operations run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining, fabrication, and fast-paced environments, with proven experience in managing production lines that utilize MRP/ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Oversight: Manage daily operations in the production area to ensure that manufacturing processes deliver products on time and in full, without compromising quality.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing production team to achieve set objectives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Process Improvement: Implement process changes to increase productivity and efficiency while reducing costs. Utilize MRP/ERP systems to streamline operations and enhance production planning.
  • Quality Control: Ensure products meet industry standards and customer expectations. Oversee quality control measures and work closely with the quality assurance team.
  • Resource Management: Efficiently manage resources, including materials, equipment, and personnel, to meet production targets.
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce strict safety guidelines and compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyze production reports to monitor performance and make data-driven decisions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with other department heads and stakeholders within the group to align production with overall business objectives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Production Manager in a machining, fabrication, or fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to manage and develop a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex production lines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Management, or related field is preferred.
