We are currently looking for a dedicated SEN LSA to join a primary school in Clacton, Essex, to support a Key Stage 2 child with an EHCP for ADHD.

This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support to the child in the classroom setting and at individual workstations at other points in the school. You will be helping them to engage with activities and re-focus them using a range of strategies that meets and supports their individual needs, helping them succeed academically and emotionally.

Responsibilities for SEN LSA Clacton:
  • Provide 1:1 support for a KS2 child with ADHD.
  • Assist with personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies.
  • Ensure students stay focused and engaged while working at separate workstations.
  • Collaborate with teachers and the SEN team to create a structured and positive learning environment.
  • Offer emotional and social support to help students feel confident and supported.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children with ADHD or other SEN.
  • Knowledge of sensory needs and experience in implementing sensory-based learning or therapeutic activities.
  • Patience, understanding, and the ability to keep students on task.
  • Familiarity with communication tools such as PECS, or an alternative communication systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, working closely with teachers, specialists, and parents.
  • A relevant qualification in SEN support or childcare (desirable but not essential) e.g. CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools
