Shift Engineer - Stoke Road, Clare

Are you an experienced Shift Engineer looking for a new opportunity in a high-volume, continuous production environment? We are currently seeking a multi-skilled, electrically biased engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve root cause issues using strong technical and data analysis skills.
  • Perform planned and preventative maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Drive proactive fault prevention and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor production targets, balancing production lines to minimise downtime.
  • Train and coach frontline employees on equipment best practices.
  • Lead and support project initiatives within the plant.

What We're Looking For:

  • Electrically biased, multi-skilled engineer with strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
  • Experience in high-volume production environments with PLC & SCADA control systems.
  • Ability to interrogate PLC code for fault diagnosis.
  • NVQ Level 3 or HNC in Electrical Engineering (previously required HNC, now open to NVQ Level 3).
  • Knowledge of electrical panels, motor drive controllers, mechanical drawings (P&ID), fluid systems, steam/condensate systems, and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Experience with equipment such as Krones, Sidel, Alfa Laval, Bucher, GEA, and Veolia is an advantage.


Shift Pattern:

4-week rotating shift pattern:

  • Week 1: Monday & Tuesday (Days) | Friday - Sunday (Nights)
  • Week 2: Wednesday & Thursday (Days)
  • Week 3: Monday & Tuesday (Nights) | Friday - Sunday (Days)
  • Week 4: Wednesday & Thursday (Nights)

EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Ability to interrogate PLC code used for diagnostic fault finding.
  • Multi skilled - Electrically bias with electrical qualifications
  • C&G (Apply online only), 2330, 2360 & 2351
  • C&G 2391 inspection and testing
  • HNC or HND
  • 18th Edition
  • Electrical & mechanical - Experienced in high volume continuous production environment with plc, pneumatic control with a high mechanical aptitude and good diagnostic skills
  • Electrical panel fault finding
  • Component identification and change. Using change management
  • Electrical drawing fault finding ability
  • 24v DC, 240vAC and 415v 3 phase systems
  • High automation - controls system PLC & Scada
  • Motor drive controllers
  • Motor pumps
  • Mechanical drawing - follow P&ID control
  • Fluid systems - control valves & flowSmall projects Electrical & Mechanical installations
  • Steam and condensate experience
  • Water systems i.e. RO & NF systems
  • Waste water treatment plants
  • Hands-on experience
