Specifications Technologist

Position: Full-time, permanent
Hours: 08:45 to 16:45 Monday to Thursday, 08:45 to 16:00 on Friday, with a 45-minute paid lunch break and an early finish on Fridays.

Role Overview: We’re seeking a Specifications Technologist to join our Technical team—a detail-oriented, proactive individual with strong communication skills and a background in food manufacturing.

In this role, you will manage and enhance our site specifications system, ensuring compliance with legal, technical, and customer standards across all product stages, from raw material assessments to customer inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and update company and customer product specifications and related technical documents.
  • Accurately input and manage data on customer web portals.
  • Ensure recipes and raw materials comply with safety and specification standards.
  • Conduct food safety assessments and verify compliance with legal requirements.
  • Assess supplier and material integrity, including ethical and sustainability standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date data within the company database.
  • Support the approval process for raw materials and suppliers as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Technical team to support the broader Nactarome business.
  • Respond to technical inquiries and support audits when required.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams to meet information needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • HND or degree in Food Science or related field preferred.
  • Experience in a similar role within food manufacturing, with knowledge of retailer standards.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Self-motivated, able to prioritize work, and work well within a team under pressure.
  • Valid UK driver’s license with access to a vehicle.
  • Full right to work in the UK.
