Candidates should have proven experience with the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform and a sound understanding of PLM techniques, along with a degree or equivalent experience. The position requires effective communication and strategic decision-making skills, with a salary range of £50,000 to £70,000 per year. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in PLM solutions and engineering data management is required.

UKAEA is leading the drive to put fusion energy on the grid, to give the world a new form of long-term, sustainable low-carbon electricity. At their sites at Culham, Oxfordshire and Rotherham, South Yorkshire, they have a rapidly growing workforce to fulfil their expanding programme of research, focused on delivering the UK's first fusion prototype power plant by 2040.

We are looking for a 3DExperience PLM Solution Architect!

Provide expert advice to UKAEA and subsidiaries supporting a transformation path utilising the Dassault Systems 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.

Advise how best to leverage and enable the full capability of the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform over a products lifecycle to achieve business objectives in response to the needs of UKAEA's evolving digital information architecture.

Accountabilities:

  • Play a leading role in the adoption and implementation of the UKAEA 3DS solution ensuring coverage of whole business process while guaranteeing the final workability and relevancy of the solution.
  • Work directly with the Configuration Management and Engineering delivery teams to facilitate the implementation of the 3DS to UKAEA programmes refining business process in regard of value creation and business transformation.
  • Play a leading role in the migration from existing (legacy) applications towards long term 'fit for the future' 3DS technology solutions.
  • Advise (and where appropriate develop) UKAEA specific PLM solutions where industry solutions are not available.
  • Advise on UKAEA's engineering applications portfolio to ensure it aligns with UKAEA's digital strategy.
  • Leverage the benefits of a connected engineering applications portfolio to facilitate a digital thread.
  • Play a leading role in Simulation Data Management (SDM) and foster a simulation led design philosophy (MODSIM).
  • Play a leading role in the enablement of Digital Twin.
  • Work directly with the CAD & CAE Manager to ensure seamless integration of the 3DS platform and UKAEA's CAD & CAE applications.
  • Work directly with non-engineering functions, Project Management Office, asset management, finance, procurement etc. to align with the PLM strategy.
  • Contribute significantly to the development and implementation of new processes and procedures to support the adoption of digital technologies.
  • Support the up-skilling, development, and training of UKAEA Staff to ensure the successful adoption of digital technologies.
  • Play a leading role in the adoption and implementation of BS/ISO international standards, and PLM best practice.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in the implementation of Dassault Systems 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.
  • Sound understanding of PLM techniques and the management of complex engineering data sets.
  • Proven ability to interface with a range of CAD and CAE applications.
  • Experience managing information across whole product lifecycle.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate complex challenges to a broad audience.
  • Proven ability to influence strategic decisions with technically sound and reasoned justification.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline or suitable experience.
