Head Chef Ideal Profile:

  • A strong background in fresh food kitchens with a passion for high-quality, seasonal ingredients
  • Leadership experience in a busy, high-standard gastro pub or restaurant environment
  • Skilled in menu development, costing, and GP optimization
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team, fostering a positive and productive kitchen culture
  • Knowledge of HACCP and kitchen health & safety regulations
  • A hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail and consistency in execution

Head Chef Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring efficiency and high standards are maintained
  • Develop and implement creative, seasonal menus that align with the venue's fresh food ethos
  • Manage stock control, supplier relationships, and costings to achieve targeted GP margins
  • Train, mentor, and develop the kitchen team, ensuring smooth service and high morale
  • Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards in line with HACCP guidelines
  • Work closely with senior management to drive the business forward and enhance the overall dining experience
