Civil engineering Contractor

80,000 - 85,000 p/a + 5000 car allowance

Fawkes & Reece are working with a prominent Civil Engineering Groundworks contractor based in Warrington that is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team. This 65million turn over contractor is prominent in the groundworks for new build/house build market in the Northwest.

About the role : Senior Quantity Surveyor

As the Senior Quantity, you'll report to the Commercial director and be a part of the Warrington based commercial team.

The housebuilder clients you will be contracting for are the likes of; Vistry, Kellen, Keepmoat, and more! Operating on various sizes of New build site.

Responsibilities for Senior Quantity Surveyor

  • Costing: Accurately pricing the costs of materials, labour and equipment required for each project and submitting quotations for works. Ensuring scheme costs are correct on the system and raising queries where necessary.
  • Tender Preparation: Preparing and reviewing tender documents
  • Supplier and Subcontractor relations: Liaise with operational staff, including clients and subcontractors. Attending internal / external meetings when necessary and fostering good relationships. Manage the subcontract supply chain, issuing orders and the processing of payments.
  • Contract Management: Administering contracts and variations ensuring compliance.
  • Cost Control: Implementing effective cost control measure to optimise project outcomes.
  • Project Reporting: Regular reporting on financial progress, potential risks and cost saving opportunities to management.
  • Budget Management: Collaborating with Project Managers to establish and maintain budgets throughout the project life cycle.

Requirements for the Senior Quantity Surveyor

  • Essential to have demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor/Commercial manager
  • Preferably experience doing Groundworks packages for new house build sector
  • Desirable experience working for a new build housing contractor
  • Ability to commute to Warrington Head Office 5 days per week
  • Valid and full UK Drivers Licence

Remuneration for the Senior Quantity Surveyor

  • 80,000 - 85,000 p/a base salary (depending on experience)
