Our client, a highly respected Higher Education establishment based in Clydebank, requires a Hospitality Assistant on a temporary basis. The salary for the position is £12.55/hour, working 35 hours per week Monday to Friday.A PVG for working with children will be required for this role so applicants must be prepared to apply for this.Main purpose of role:To provide a service to students and staff who are using the Hospitality facilities. To maintain high standards of cleanliness within the Training Kitchens and the safe and tidy storage of all tools and equipment in accordance with safety procedures.Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
  • To maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and general tidiness of the Training Kitchens, specifically the work surfaces, equipment and utensils
  • To assist the Chef Lecturers in the Training Kitchen as required
  • To ensure Training Kitchens are maintained to current Health and Safety requirements
  • To receive food deliveries and ensure they meet required specifications
  • To ensure effective and efficient disposal of all waste materials in line with all college Health & Safety procedures and practice
  • To maintain record of all orders, stock items and temperatures of refrigeration and freezer units within the store
Key Skills and Requirements:
  • Relevant kitchen-based experience gained in a similar role
  • An understanding of Health and Safety procedures and Food Hygiene
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • General IT skills for record management
  • PVG for working with children
