Are you ready to take the next step in your finance career? Our client, a dynamic player in the manufacturing industry, is on the lookout for a talented Management Accountant to join their team. This role is critical in driving financial insights and supporting strategic decision-making across two thriving trading companies.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Craft and deliver accurate monthly management accounts for both companies, ensuring timely reporting.
  • Dive deep into variance analysis to uncover key discrepancies and inform strategic adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Director in developing annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Assist with year-end accounts preparation and liaise seamlessly with external auditors.
  • Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and up-to-date financial records.

Cost & Performance Management

  • Conduct thorough cost analyses to identify opportunities for enhancing profitability and efficiency.
  • Monitor and report on critical manufacturing KPIs, including wastage and productivity metrics.
  • Partner with operations and procurement teams to tighten cost control measures.

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

  • Keep a vigilant eye on cash flow to maintain optimal working capital levels.
  • Oversee credit control and manage supplier payment schedules effectively.

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations, tax obligations, and corporate policies.
  • Implement robust financial controls and process improvements.
  • Assist with VAT returns, payroll, and other regulatory reporting tasks.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Champion the implementation and enhancement of finance systems for better reporting efficiency.
  • Develop insightful dashboards and reporting tools to elevate business intelligence.
  • Identify and drive efficiencies in finance and operational processes.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
  • Proficient in ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, or similar).
  • Advanced Excel skills with the capability to manage large datasets.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to influence key business decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
