TRC are currently supporting a fantastic well established care provider in sourcing a Senior/ Care Team Leader in Leicester. The service supports individuals with learning disabilities, offering a person-centred, supportive, and inclusive environment. The team focus on fostering independence, promoting dignity, and respecting individual preferences and goals. Through tailored care plans, they ensure the unique needs of each service user are met, helping them to live fulfilling lives while maintaining their rights and individuality.

About the Role:

As a SSW/Care Team Leader, you will play a vital role in coordinating the care of service users by leading a team of Healthcare Support Workers. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care, providing guidance, supervision, and support to your team while upholding the values of the company.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the care of service users in line with person-centred care plans, promoting independence, dignity, and choice.
  • Leading and mentoring support workers, supervising their practice, and ensuring adherence to Care values.
  • Administering medication (if designated and deemed competent) in line with company policy and ensuring proper monitoring and documentation.
  • Supporting service users with daily living activities, personal care, and social engagements, fostering their well-being and social connections.
  • Reporting any changes in service users' physical, emotional, or environmental needs to the Person in Charge.
  • Teaching, guiding, and supervising new support workers, ensuring they are well-oriented to the service and trained in practical care routines.
  • Monitoring and addressing care, environment, or staffing issues, escalating concerns to the Registered Manager as needed.

Key qualifications and attributes include:

  • Essential: Level 3 Health and Social Care Diploma/NVQ and completion of the Care Certificate.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years working at a senior level within a Health and Social Care setting.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and mentorship skills, with the ability to lead by example.
