About the Role:
Due to exciting growth and the opening of a new state-of-the-art refurbishment centre, our client is seeking a talented Bodyshop Prepper to join their vehicle reconditioning team in Coalville, Leicestershire . This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering a competitive salary between £30,000 and £40,000 per year.
As a Bodyshop Prepper, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all vehicles are prepped to the highest standards before the reconditioning process begins. You will be responsible for various prep duties, including masking, sanding down, priming, and completing small filler work across all makes and models of vehicles. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a passion for the automotive industry, and a commitment to delivering top-quality work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Masking: Properly prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by accurately masking off areas to avoid overspray.
- Sanding Down: Sanding surfaces to ensure smooth finishes, prepping areas for painting or further repair work.
- Priming: Apply primer coats to vehicle surfaces in preparation for painting.
- Small Filler Work: Carry out minor filler repairs to bodywork as needed.
- General Prep Duties: Assist in ensuring vehicles meet the required reconditioning standards, ready for painting and final finishing.
You will work within a dynamic, fast-paced team environment, collaborating closely with other technicians and ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality, with a focus on a right-first-time approach.
About You:We’re looking for someone who is passionate about the automotive industry and has a solid understanding of bodyshop prep techniques. You’ll need to be highly organized, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Your technical knowledge will allow you to consistently deliver the high standards of prep work our client is known for.
Minimum Criteria:
- Experience with sanding, masking, priming, and small filler work on all makes of vehicles.
- A good understanding of bodyshop prep techniques and materials.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining quality and efficiency.
- A full, clean UK driving license is essential.
