Job Description: Barker Ross are seeking a reliable and skilled Fencing & Landscaping Operative to join our clients team, working primarily in external environments within a 50-mile radius of Coalville. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks, including timber fencing installation, repairs, and basic landscaping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fencing Installation & Repairs: Carry out the installation of various types of fencing, including timber, concrete posts, metal railings, and other fencing systems. Responsible for repairs and maintenance of existing fencing.
- Gate Installation: Make and install timber gates as part of fencing projects.
- Basic Landscaping: Perform basic shrub cutting for access purposes, minor hard landscaping tasks such as re-laying slabs, pavers, and installing retaining walls.
- Customer Relations: Engage with customers face-to-face in a professional and courteous manner. You'll be representing the company, so a positive, helpful attitude is essential.
- Scheduling & Communication: Use a tablet device for job scheduling and liaise with the admin team to ensure smooth communication and task organisation.
- General Site Maintenance: Ensure all work areas are kept clean and tidy, following health and safety guidelines at all times.
Requirements:
- Experience in fencing installation, repairs, and landscaping, including timber, concrete posts, and metal railings.
- Ability to make and install gates.
- Basic experience in landscaping tasks like shrub cutting, and minor hard landscaping.
- Basic IT skills, with experience using tablet devices for scheduling and communication.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to liaise with customers and staff professionally.
- Full driving license and ability to travel within the 50-mile radius.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures on site.
