We are looking for a passionate, bubbly & experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a lovely school in the LE67 area rated "Good" by OFSTED. The role is supporting a KS1 pupil with Complex Needs and Challenging Behaviour.

This is a classroom 1-1 based role, you must have experience working with complex needs pupils, be resilient and have strong behaviour management.

The position is to start in the next few weeks and will be long term, permanent for the right person. Monday-Friday, 8:30-3:30.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to a student with ASD, ADHD,, SEMH & Associated Behavioural Challenges, adapting teaching materials and strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management plans.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a holistic approach to student development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a similar role such as within a SEN/SEMH setting.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning).
  • Understanding of different learning needs, including autism, ADHD, and other developmental disorders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children and young people with SEN.
  • DBS registered to the update service.
  • Assist in the educational process by helping to implement lesson plans tailored for individual needs.
