Job Advert: Payroll Assistant - Up to £32K - Hybrid in Coalville

Macildowie are excited to be working with a well-established business based in Coalville to recruit a Payroll Assistant on a permanent basis.

Salary: Up to £32,000Location: Coalville (Hybrid - 2-3 days in the office)Working Hours: Full-time

The Role

As a Payroll Assistant, you will support the payroll function to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. Responsibilities include:

  • Processing payroll transactions, including starters, leavers, and salary changes
  • Managing HMRC submissions and ensuring compliance with PAYE, NI, and pensions
  • Handling employee payroll queries with professionalism and accuracy
  • Assisting with monthly reporting, reconciliations, and data validation
  • Working with payroll software to input and verify payroll data
  • Supporting the year-end process, including P60s, P11Ds, and RTI submissions
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous payroll experience within a finance or HR function
  • Knowledge of HMRC legislation, PAYE, NI, and pension contributions
  • Experience using payroll systems such as Sage, ADP, Workday, or iTrent
  • Strong Excel skills and an analytical approach to data
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
