The Agency recruitment agency has partnered with a prominent manufacturer to find a dedicated and skilled Health & Safety Coordinator. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and respected company that prioritises the safety and well-being of its employees while maintaining the highest standards of production.

The role

As the Health & Safety Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the workplace meets all safety regulations and standards.

You will be responsible for

Developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety programs that promote a safe working environment for all employees. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of health and safety legislation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Job role

  •  Create, implement, and maintain health and safety programs and policies that comply with current legislation and best practices.
  • Perform regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Lead investigations into any accidents or incidents, ensuring that root causes are identified and preventive measures are implemented.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for all employees, ensuring they are informed of their responsibilities and safety procedures.
  •  Ensure the company complies with all relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and standards.
  •  Prepare detailed reports on safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations for management review.
  •  Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure ongoing compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures, conducting drills and training sessions to ensure readiness.
  • Work closely with different departments to integrate safety practices into daily operations and foster a culture of safety across the organisation

The candidate specification

  •  NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH 
  • Proven experience in a similar Health & Safety role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office
