Procurement Officer - Housing

Location: LE67 4JP
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: 3+ months
Working hours: Mon - Fri, 09:00 - 17:00, 36.25 hours per week
Salary: 22.97 per hour

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Officer to join our clients team with a specific focus on housing-related procurement. The role will involve advising senior managers on procurement processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving value for money across the council's housing contracts. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional looking to make a significant impact within a local government setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice to senior managers and departments on procurement processes, ensuring adherence to the council's Contract Procedure Rules and Public Contracts Regulations 2015.
  • Achieve value for money and identify opportunities for cashable savings in procurement activities.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships and relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify innovative procurement strategies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Produce comprehensive reports and analyse procurement data for senior management and the Procurement Corporate Action Team.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to advise and engage effectively at all levels.
  • Detailed understanding of the procurement cycle, contract law, best procurement practices, and relevant legislation.
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Proven experience in partnership working and relationship building.
  • Demonstrable track record of translating policy and strategy into practical actions.
