Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and reliable CNC Router Operator to join our clients manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating CNC routers to cut, shape, and carve materials such as wood, plastic, or composites to precise specifications. The role requires a strong attention to detail, a good understanding of machining techniques, and the ability to work efficiently to meet production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC router machines to cut, carve, and shape materials based on technical drawings and production requirements.
- Set up machines, including loading materials, adjusting tooling, and ensuring that the equipment is calibrated correctly for optimal performance.
- Monitor machine operations during production to ensure consistent quality and accurate dimensions.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC router machines to ensure their proper functioning and longevity.
- Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring that all specifications are met and that high-quality standards are maintained.
- Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform basic repairs as needed, or report complex issues to the maintenance team.
- Work with supervisors and other team members to ensure that production schedules are met.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and ensure the safe operation of machinery at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, including material usage, machine settings, and quality control checks.
- Ensure that the work area is kept clean and organised, adhering to company safety protocols.
- Follow all company policies and quality assurance procedures.
Qualifications:
- Experience programming CNC Routers using Maestro CAD software would be advantageous
- A solid understanding of CNC machine operation, including machine setup, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Good knowledge of various materials, including wood, plastic, and composite materials.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to ensure precise and accurate cutting.
- Competency in using measuring tools (e.g., callipers, micrometres) to verify product specifications.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to keep accurate records.
- A commitment to safety and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills and CNC programming would be advantageous.
Work Environment:
- The position is based in a manufacturing workshop environment.
- The role may involve exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- The role may require standing for long periods and lifting materials weighing up to 25kg.
