Carbon60 are currently recruiting for a Customer Operations Advisor (Stores-Based role) to join our client on the Midlands Quarry Products site in Ellistown, Coalville. Our client is a large engineering company with over 200 sites across the UK and Ireland and provides a wide range of engineering services.
This Customer Operations Advisor role is available on a 12-week temporary to permanent basis working Monday - Friday 08:30 - 17:00, 40 hours/week, on-site. Should you be successful in your probation period of the temporary contract, you will be offered a permanent position.

You will be providing customer support to our client's team to help meet customer requirements and answer queries by being a point of contact. You will be responsible for stock-related responsibilities in the stores area on site, receiving deliveries, stock checking, expediting and processing orders. Stores or warehouse experience are essential for this role, as well as a competent level of IT literacy to be trained to use in-house ordering systems eventually on-site. Good communication skills as well as experience in a stores/warehouse environment are required to succeed in this stores based customer facing role.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Being initial and key point of contact for the customer
  • Responding to client enquiries and requests - non-stock, across multiple vendors.
  • Keep order expediting up to date.
  • Receiving deliveries - using computer systems to log deliveries received. Allocate to correct shelf or correct person dependent on order type.
  • Stock checking - counting stock as appropriate following a yearly, monthly or weekly plan. Accurately enter data using customer's computer system. Check for accuracy in shelf to sheet correlation. Analyse results and correct any discrepancies.
  • Expediting orders - ensuring our suppliers stick to their quoted delivery dates. Communication with suppliers by phone or email to keep our records up to date.
  • Consumables ordering - ownership of and ordering of consumable items such as nuts and bolts, grinding discs, thread tape etc
  • Hygiene and safety - ownership of Engineering Stores and outside areas from a Hygiene, Safety and organisation perspective. Housekeeping as per daily checklist.

ABOUT YOU -

You're driven by the thought of delivering customer service excellence on site with some of the most recognised names in industry. The idea of autonomy and responsibility to develop business and relationships on site doesn't phase you, in fact, you relish the opportunity to develop with our client.

Prior experience in stores or warehousing roles is essential. An active or recently held Forklift (FLT) Licence would be desirable but not essential. You must be competent with the use of computers and hold an acceptable level of IT literacy.
