Contract Duration: 3+ months
Working Hours: Part-Time, 18 hours per week
Pay Rate: 14.43 per hour

Are you passionate about supporting older or vulnerable individuals to live independently? We're seeking a dedicated Housing Support Worker to join our clients team on a part-time basis, delivering essential support to tenants in supported independent living and sheltered housing properties. The successful candidate must be local as role requires multiple daily visits/contacts across the district. Please note: no personal care required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess tenants' needs, develop support plans, and provide assistance that promotes independence, dignity, and rights. Ensure assessments are regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Facilitate access to social, health, and well-being services. Work closely with other Council departments and Housing Services teams, such as Housing Repairs.
  • Take the lead in organising and designing social, health, and well-being activities within sheltered housing schemes. Empower residents to shape and develop these activities, ensuring regular scheme meetings and consultations.
  • Provide advice on local services, rights, and entitlements. Advocate for tenants where needed and assist with accessing and completing necessary forms.

Requirements:

  • Have access to a vehicle during working hours, which must be insured to the Councils requirements for business use.
  • Knowledge and understanding of both physical and mental health related problems and the diverse needs of elderly and vulnerable customers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach.
  • Ability to organise and facilitate community activities.
  • Knowledge of housing and support services is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of assistive technology support solutions.
