We have an exciting opportunity for a QA Manager with experience in a food environment, to join a fast-growing, well-established company with real chances of progression.
The role of Quality Assurance Manager reports directly to the Site General Manager and the Regional Technical Manager. It is a ‘hands on’ role with 1 direct report during peak season, this may grow in the future, therefore would suit either a quality professional ready for a step into a management position, or an already established Quality Manager looking for a new opportunity.
The role of Quality Assurance Manager will involve managing quality processes including BRC and HACCP, as well as being the first point of contact for customer visits, audits as well as promoting best practice across the site.
Key accountabilities of the QA Manager
- Management and motivation of the site quality and hygiene systems to achieve commercial, site and quality objectives
- Reviewing, auditing and challenging factory operations with regards to product safety and quality
- Ensuring development and monitoring of the site HACCP system and management of BRC
- Managing and conducting Internal quality audits
- Championing the Food Safety Quality Culture plan and customer complaints reduction
- Working with internal and external customers to deliver quality changes, improvements and new products to the business
- Working with the Group Technical Function to assist in the development, implementation and management of quality management and operating procedures
- Managing the training and development of new starters within quality assurance
Requirements of the Quality Assurance Manager
- Experience of working in a food environment
- Experience of working in a warehouse or value-added environment is an advantage - preferably in ambient, shelf stable products
- Working within or supplying leading retailers or major brands
- Management of Food Safety, Legality and Quality Systems
- Experience of HACCP / BRC
