Job Title: Factory Electrician
Responsible to: Maintenance and Facilities Leader
Location: Glasgow
Salary: Up to 50,000 DOE
Job Purpose
As a Factory Electrician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Your primary focus will be minimizing downtime by performing planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, diagnosing issues, and tracking and reporting tasks.
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 7:45 AM - 4:15 PM
Friday: 7:45 AM - 12:45 PM
Key Responsibilities
* Health and Safety
* Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
* Ensure equipment is safe to use and report hazards.
* Quality Assurance
* Adhere to Quality policies and procedures relevant to your role.
* Follow the Plan-Do-Check-Act methodology to maintain high standards and improve processes.
* Maintenance and Repairs
* Respond swiftly to production downtime.
* Diagnose and repair equipment issues to restore functionality.
* Record all maintenance activities in the CMMS system.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
* Additional Responsibilities
* Ensure the effective operation of site services and facilities.
* Assist with projects and other tasks as needed.
Qualifications
* Essential
* Fully qualified Electrician with 18th Edition BS 7671 certification.
* Experience in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems in a manufacturing environment.
* Desirable
* Experience in controls and PLC programming.
Skills and Experience
* Essential
* Proven track record in high-paced manufacturing environments.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Experience in HVAC, rolling mills, gearboxes, motors, and pumps.
* Flexibility to work shifts.
* Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills.
* Desirable
* Experience in process environments with advanced fault diagnosis techniques.
Personal Qualities
* Approachable and adaptable to production demands.
* Safety-conscious, recognizing limits to ensure safe work practices.
* Confident in working independently and as part of a team.
