The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s team and lead the commercial management of a high-profile refurbishment project near Glasgow. This role will suit a proactive individual able to work autonomously on projects over £20m in value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all commercial aspects of the project, ensuring budgets and costs are effectively managed.
  • Manage procurement processes, including the preparation and analysis of tender documents and appointment of subcontractors.
  • Handle valuations, applications for payment, and subcontractor accounts, ensuring prompt and accurate certification.
  • Monitor and manage project variations and changes, maintaining precise cost records.
  • Produce detailed financial reports, including cost/value reconciliations and forecasts.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the commercial team.
What We’re Looking For
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment.
  • Exceptional commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in cost management tools and software,
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
