Job specification:

  • Care for flowers, shrubs, and ornamental gardens.
  • Develop and manage seasonal plants and existing borders for optimal health.
  • Plant and brace trees of various sizes.
  • Keep grounds clean and litter-free, repair or suggest equipment replacement as necessary.
  • Clean signs, maintain gutters, and check roofs regularly.
  • Store and clean equipment after use, keeping storage areas organised.
  • Mow lawns, trim hedges, and control invasive plants.
  • Maintain car parks and access paths, clearing leaves and debris.
  • Emptying bins, sweeping paths, and providing emergency cleanup.
  • Supervise on-site and assist during events.
  • Clear snow, grit paths, and ensure safety during inclement weather.
  • Act as Fire Marshal, ensuring efficient evacuation during fire alarms.
  • Assist the Estates Team in lockdown procedures, securing the site during drills or real threats.

Person specification:

  • Experience in similar role would be an advantage.
  • Basic maintenance skills (repairs, cleaning, etc).
  • Health and safety awareness.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently.
  • Knowledge of groundskeeping, landscaping, or minor electrical/plumbing work.

  • Reports to Estates Manager.
