Reed Education are representing a fantastic independent day school for children aged 2-16 years, are we are seeking an experienced Facilities Assistant to join the fantastic team at the school. This role requires flexibility with shifts, including weekends and evenings, and offers a chance to contribute to the daily operations and maintenance of our school facilities.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Oversee the daily operations of external hire and general operational requirements at the School, including transport.
  • Ensure the school buildings and grounds are kept clean, safe, and secure, meeting operational needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform security, first aid, and fire safety duties.
  • Manage cleaning and service facilities and liaise with external hirers.
  • Coordinate bookings via the school hire system and handle related administration.
  • Liaise with external hirers and internal departments to ensure service requirements are met.
  • Manage traffic flow around the site and ensure compliance with safety measures.
  • Maintain records related to Health & Safety and statutory inspections, including the swimming pool area.
  • Report any concerns related to facilities to the Facilities Manager.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified to provide First Aid at Work and act as a Fire Marshall.
  • Practical hands-on approach with good communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in an educational or leisure environment is preferred.
  • General knowledge of managing hard and soft school-related services.
  • Full driving licence.
