Key Qualifications for this Position include:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or eqv) from an accredited university with minimum twenty years (20) Project Management experience in Oil, Gas and Refinery Projects EPCC Projects
- Experience in large-scale Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Projects and working with major IOC
- Has clearly demonstrated engineering and project management competence
- Ability to work in multicultural environment
- Strong knowledge with relevant codes (ASCE, BS etc)
- Demonstrated interpersonal/team building skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Project and Primavera P6
- Strong written and Oral English Communication
Job Description
- Oversee the construction project from start to finish.
- Perform a key role in project planning, budgeting, and identification of resources needed.
- Create the teams, develop the objectives/goals of each and assign individual responsibilities.
- Project accounting functions including managing the budget, tracking if team expenses and minimizing exposure and risk in the project
- Ensure that construction activities move according to pre-determined schedule.
- Devise the project work plans and make revisions as and when need arises.
- Co-ordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project, which include the engineers, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors and laborers.
- Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis and hold regular status meetings with all the sub-teams.
- Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality and safety standards.
- Regular inspection of construction sites.
- Ensure project documents are complete.
- Identify the elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to disputes and claims.
- Responsible for maintaining the project construction schedules by correct supervision of the work and assuring availability of adequate tolls, equipment and manpower.
- Ensure feedback and deviation reports to project manager
- Monitors receipt and storage of all materials.
- Ensure that subcontractor deploys the right quality of personnel at the right time for the required duration.
- Ensure that subcontractor complies with all its obligations under the contract, including adherence to the specifications, schedule and procedures.
- Take necessary corrective action to align project back on track in case of deviations from plans (cost, schedule, quality, HSE, performance, operability, maintainability, etc.).
- Monitor subcontractor performance against its program, deliverables, and milestones in line with progress measurement and reporting system set out in the EPC contract.
- Avoid the variations from contract by taking proactive/preventive actions.
