Our client is looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Service Managers to direct the strategic requirement, operational care standard and continuous improvement of their services across Surrey. Responsible to the Care Operations Manager, you will collaborate with the other Senior Service Managers to execute strategic visions at the direction of the Head of Care Operations and Registered Manager.

Job Description:

  • Monitoring service provision - ensuring gaps and under contract hours are resolved and resources are being maximised with regards to impact on overall delivery of hours.
  • Co-produce and implement strategic plans for the delivery of care services for unpaid carers in alignment with the business plan.
  • Lead and motivate a team of care professionals providing guidance, coaching and support.
  • Attend Care Worker team meetings and present when required.
  • Take part in a second tier Out of Hours roster, working collaboratively with the other Senior Service Managers to ensure adequate cover is in place.
  • Lead with investigations into and HR/Employee Relations concerns within the care team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues/stakeholders and external bodies.
  • Work alongside the Training and Compliance Manager to ensure overall compliance in your sector ensuring that all documentation is reviewed and current in line with the client’s needs.
  • Work with Recruitment Coordinator regarding requirements within your area of responsibility.
  • Confidently take lead in safeguarding concerns and liaise with the appropriate representatives to ensure a safe and thorough approach
  • Attend weekly 'in office’ days with Service Managers to ensure a robust and clear approach to operational management.
  • Submit comprehensive performance reports to the Head of Care Operations & Registered Manager detailing your team's performance.
  • Take lead in the interviewing and recruitment of Service Managers and other care staff where required
  • Deal with any pay queries relating to the field staff and line management responsibilities.
  • Proactively rectify any invoice queries from unpaid carers.
  • Complete monthly themed audits of sector.

Person Specification:

  • Must have a full UK drivers license and use of a car
  • Willingness to commence NVQ Level 3 and/or Level 5 in Health and Social Care within three months. Funded by the organisation.
  • Care Certificate and knowledge of CQC regulations and Health Care Act
  • Previous line management experience, ideally in a care setting, including rostering and completing observations and supervisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good level of IT literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word/Excel) and the ability to learn to use other digital platforms and software
  • Experience of participating in or leading formal processes, e.g. disciplinary or absence management processes
  • Knowledge of safeguarding protocols and experience of handling safeguarding concerns
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with team members, carers and people with care and support needs, while maintaining appropriate personal boundaries
  • Adherence to policies, procedures and national, regional and local guidance
  • Ability to demonstrate dignity and respect for adults and children with care and support needs
  • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality
  • Thorough understanding of the needs of (unpaid) carers.
