Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Solar Installer to join their team, combining hands-on PV installation with technical project support.

In this hybrid role, you will work closely with our Technical Manager to ensure high-quality, compliant installations while assisting with system design, documentation, and site planning across the Southeast.

Job Description:

  • Install solar PV systems, including panels, inverters, mounting hardware, and battery storage units.
  • Conduct on-site assessments and recommend optimal system configurations based on site conditions.
  • Ensure all installations comply with safety standards, industry regulations, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Provide basic system handover training to residential and commercial clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, including documentation and site photos.
  • Assist the Technical Manager with installation planning, including layout designs and system schematics.
  • Review technical documentation, compliance checklists, and support project preparation.
  • Help compile and organise data for MCS certification and DNO applications.
  • Share on-site insights and feedback to improve future system designs and installation processes.
  • Support quality assurance efforts and assist with troubleshooting when required on-site.

Person Specification:

  • Hands-on experience with solar PV or general electrical installations.
  • Relevant electrical certifications preferred (e.g., NICEIC, 18th Edition, Part P, MCS).
  • Solid understanding of solar components, wiring, and installation best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system specifications.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic about learning and developing within the renewable energy sector.
  • Ambition to grow into a technical project or management role.
  • Familiarity with technical documentation and compliance processes.
  • Strong communicator and team player, able to collaborate effectively with both engineers and installers.
