Private Client Solicitor (NQ) - CobhamLocation: CobhamPosition: Full-Time, PermanentA reputable and well-established Surrey-based law firm is seeking a Newly Qualified Private Client Solicitor to join its team in Cobham. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to build a career in Private Client law within a supportive and professional environment.The RoleThe successful candidate will manage a varied caseload under supervision, providing high-quality legal advice on a range of private client matters. Responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on wills, probate, estate administration, trusts, and powers of attorney.
  • Preparing legal documents, including wills, trust deeds, and lasting powers of attorney, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Assisting clients with estate planning, including inheritance tax advice and trust creation/management.
  • Administering estates, including obtaining grants of probate or letters of administration, managing HMRC inheritance tax requirements, and distributing estate assets.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all client interactions and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including SRA and AML regulations.
  • Providing empathetic and practical advice to clients, often in sensitive personal circumstances.
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development to remain up to date with changes in private client law.

The CandidateThe ideal candidate will have:

  • Recently qualified as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with a focus on private client law.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
