Finance Assistant

Great opportunity, working within friendly and professional finance team. You will be reporting to the Financial Controller. Due to the office location, a drivers license is essential.

What is the day to day role of a Finance Assistant:

  • Reviewing aged creditor listing regularly, ensuring payments are processed
  • Preparing weekly BACS runs for payment of invoices
  • Filing all paid purchase invoices
  • Sending remittance advices to suppliers
  • Reconciling supplier statements on a monthly basis
  • Maintaining accurate supplier details on Sage 200
  • Dealing with suppliers and general purchase ledger queries
  • Recording purchase invoices and credit notes
  • Seeking authorisation from budget holders for all purchase invoices
  • Checking invoices are coded correctly
  • Verifying supplier bank details
  • Processing all authorised invoices on Sage 200
  • Processing staff expense claims
  • Reconciling petty cash accounts on a regular basis
  • Obtaining credit card vouchers, reconciling and posting transactions
  • Summaries and analysis of data for management information purposes
  • Assistance with the preparation of information for the external auditors

Required Skills and Qualifications of a Finance Assistant

  • Must have a full driving license due to office location
  • Experience in a similar role is essential
  • Fully proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Being warm and approachable
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Always maintain confidentiality
