About the Role:Marks Consulting Partners is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a reputable Housing Association for an experienced and dedicated Neighbourhood Officer. This role is a long-term contract (minimum of 6 months, with the possibility of extension) based in Reigate, Banstead, and Dorking, with the main office located in Leatherhead, Surrey. The Neighbourhood Officer will manage a patch of approximately 400-600 properties, working closely with residents to ensure excellent service delivery, maintain positive relationships, and contribute to the smooth running of the local neighbourhood.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a professional and responsive service to tenants and residents within your designated patch, managing a range of issues related to tenancy management, repairs, and community engagement.

  • Monitor and enforce tenancy conditions, addressing issues such as rent arrears, antisocial behaviour, and property maintenance concerns.

  • Work collaboratively with other departments, such as repairs, estate management, and customer services, to ensure tenants' needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, attending resident meetings, and addressing any concerns or queries raised.

  • Undertake regular estate inspections, identifying maintenance needs and ensuring estates are kept in a good condition.

  • Provide guidance and support to residents regarding tenancy matters, including the allocation of homes, rent payments, and housing benefits.

  • Collaborate with local agencies, councils, and community groups to support and deliver initiatives that enhance the wellbeing of residents and the wider community.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with housing association policies and regulatory standards.

About You:

  • Previous experience working in social housing, either within a local authority or housing association setting, is essential.

  • Strong understanding of housing policies, tenancy management, and relevant legislation.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents and colleagues at all levels.

  • Proven ability to manage a caseload, prioritize tasks, and work independently to meet deadlines.

  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.

  • Knowledge of managing properties, dealing with rent arrears, antisocial behaviour, and tenancy breaches.

  • Ability to work flexibly, with a willingness to adapt to hybrid working arrangements.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

  • A housing-related qualification (e.g., CIH Level 3 or equivalent).

  • Experience working with vulnerable or diverse groups.

  • Full UK driving licence (due to site visits in the patch area).
