Head Chef / Sous Chef / Chef de Partie (3 x fixed term contracts)

Founded in 2011, The Lakes Distillery has an ambitious vision to become a luxury single malt whisky business and has reached a significant point in our growth. Based in an idyllic setting near Bassenthwaite Lake, we are currently looking for a passionate Chefs to join us at our Brand Home on our exciting and exceptional journey. We offer a balanced working environment, with mostly day-time hours coupled with occasional high-end evening events.

As an integral part of our on-site food & beverage operation, working in a fast-paced environment, you will deliver menus that suit a contemporary bistro looking to focus on provenance and flavour. You be part of a team of chefs and kitchen assistants, taking a calm, professional approach to delivering exceptional service, whilst building on and developing your skills. Our guest experience is at the forefront of everything we do, your pride in your profession and detail-oriented mindset will give you the edge in delivering memorable experiences to all our guests.

This role is ideal for committed career chefs looking to stamp their food philosophy on our business while working collaboratively across a multi-channel operation. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen, consistently delivering exceptional guest experiences both during day-to-day service and events.
  • Delivering seasonal menus as well as bespoke event menus.
  • Appropriately following stock management processes including stock levels and stock rotation, as well as assisting in stock takes.
  • Following all health & safety and food hygiene initiatives under the appropriate legislation and requirements.
  • Ensuring the kitchen is kept in immaculate condition, including responsibility for the maintenance of all equipment by reporting any issues through the correct channels.

KEY CHARACTERISTICS

  • You will have a passion for guest-focused hospitality, with enthusiasm for delivering new and exciting menus reflective of a modern restaurant.
  • You will have the ability to work collaboratively with your team, with a positive mindset and solutions-first approach.
  • You will be highly reliable, organised and professional, with exceptional communication skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Being comfortable with change is essential, with the awareness and understanding to pivot where required and demonstrate the agility required to meet the needs of a growing business.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Experience in delivering events is preferred
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as under own initiative
  • Must have the right to work within the United Kingdom (required)

The roles are temporary for an initial three-month period.
