Financial Controller- Colchester - £55,000 – 65,000Are you a hands-on finance professional seeking a leadership role in an SME? Reporting to the CFO you’ll take full responsibility for the day-to-day finances of the business playing a key role in financial operations and strategic decision-making.You will oversee all financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning. Your responsibilities will include preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, managing budgets and cash flow forecasts, and analysing operational costs to improve efficiency. You will oversee accounts payable and receivable, payroll, VAT returns, and tax compliance, ensuring smooth financial management. Working closely with the senior management team, you will provide expert financial advice, support business expansion decisions, and optimise internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance. You will also leverage financial software to streamline processes and improve reporting accuracy.Ideally, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with experience in a similar role, ideally within an SME environment.Experience with financial software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage would be an advantage.Culture is very important, you’ll need to have a personality, it’s an open-plan office with lots going on.For more information please contact Richard Newcombe at Oakhill Recruitment.
