Our logistics client is looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant to join their team in Essex.
A typical day as Accounts Assistant will involve inputting and reconciling invoices, dealing with supplier queries and handling customer payment disputes. Experience from the freight industry would be a distinct advantage but is not essential. The company are also willing to train someone from a junior position.
Accounts Assistant duties include:
- Importing and reconciling carrier invoices.
- Investigate and raise carrier queries and/or surcharge clients from unreconciled invoice lines.
- Inputting credit notes and close carrier queries, close surcharge dispute if credit note relates.
- Reply to carrier queries and monitor responses and length of time to resolve.
- Respond to customer surcharge disputes.
- Pay carriers where applicable.
- Raise necessary carrier queries from the Operations department.
- Monitor carrier costings.
- Fuel surcharge updates.
- Monitor finance inbox.
In return, the successful Accounts Assistant will be offered a salary in the region of £27,000 and £38,000, depending on skills and experience.
