My client is looking for a talented junior sous chef for their luxury hotel in Colchester. The hotel compromises of 55 bedrooms, function rooms and a restaurant that can cater for 100 covers. This venue is easily accessible by public transport links.

The successful candidate will be part of a brigade of 10 chefs delivering quality brasserie food to both hotel guests and non-residents, as well as delivering food to the functions as required. The functions include everything from corporate lunches to wedding breakfasts.

Ideal candidate

You will be proactive, ambitious, have an eye for detail and a real passion for creating fresh, locally sourced dishes. Understand menu design, allergens and dietary requirements as well as menu pricing. You would also need to be confident leading a team as well as working as part of one.

You will be ideally at a senior CDP or Junior sous chef level to be considered for this role. A background in good quality establishments would be beneficial for this role as you will be cooking food to a rosette standard.

Hours 48 hours per week. Overtime paid.
